Centre Administrator - Part Time (0.5FTE)

We seek a Centre Administrator to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Centre Lead, Centre Manager, and other members of staff within the Centre for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology, which is an extremely large and ever growing research group, to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities to include aspects of administration from financial to human resources.

The successful candidate will join a 70 strong research team of scientists and clinicians dedicated to Inflammation and Rheumatology Research. The Centre offers newly refurbished office and laboratories, cutting edge facilities and is located in the heart of the City of London in close proximity to the Barbican Arts and Music Centre.  

The Centre is integrated with the Department of Rheumatology and part of the world-renowned William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI). In UK Research Assessment Exercise in 2008 65% of WHRI faculty were rated as world leading or internationally excellent and our Medical School was ranked amongst the top 5 in the UK (www.smd.qmul.ac.uk). We have recently joined University College London Partners Academic Health Sciences System which extends our reach to 5 million people and from August will join the Russell Group of top research-intensive UK Universities.

The post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and on a 1-year fixed term contract. The starting salary will be £27,742 - £34,220 (pro rata) per annum inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave pro rata, pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan and family-friendly working.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
