An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Sport and Health Sciences, for a Lecturer in Sports Coaching and Development. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules with the area of Sports Coaching and Development. The School is home to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and CPD opportunities both taught on-campus and by distance learning and we are proud of our commitment to delivering courses and CPD opportunities with a strong research-, industry-, and practitioner-inspired teaching philosophy.
Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject area is essential, as is relevant work experience and professional qualifications. A first degree in a Sports related discipline is essential with expertise of the current delivery and development of sports in community, school and international settings. An understanding of sport and the wider social agenda, drivers, priorities and planning across the sporting landscape. A PhD or a Master qualification and evidence of being capable of doctoral level study is also essential. A teaching qualification or the capability and willingness to achieve this qualification within a defined timescale are essential.
