Job description

We are currently looking for a Conference and Events Manager to head up our team, mainly in our Craiglockhart Campus with travel throughout the University Estate. The Conference and Events team market University facilities as a venue for meetings and conferences, as well as selling student accommodation to summer visitors and language schools. This is an opportunity to join us at an exciting time of growth. This is a full time role, with normal working days being Monday to Friday, however we are looking for someone with a flexible approach to working hours with occasional weekend working expected.

Our Property and Facilities team deliver a first class service to over 1,500 staff and nearly 18,000 students across Edinburgh Napier University. We have a focus to continuously improve the service to both customers and staff. 

The role

This is a new role, you will be responsible for delivering a change management programme, introducing new and modernising existing processes and streamlining procedures for the team. You will be responsible for providing a seamless delivery of external and internal hospitality working closely with catering and student accommodation services.

You will lead on a review of the sales, marketing and revenue for the department and implement a strategy for the future direction of the department. Deliver on agreed outputs to maximise contribution to the University while balancing the educational needs of stakeholders. Management and development of weekly forecasting and mitigating loss of revenue alongside continuous business development and increase in sales revenue, based on demand and market trends.

  • The ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrate a strong track record and extensive experience of change management
  • Demonstrable experience in developing teams and ensuring continuous improvements in service
