The School of the Arts, English and Media (TAEM), is one of four schools within the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts. The School is responsible for the delivery of the Bachelor of Communication and Media, Bachelor of Journalism, Bachelor of Creative Arts and Bachelor of Performance and Theatre.

The School also offers higher degree research programs that have an excellent reputation for linking scholarship to creative practice. The School’s focus on creative and communication practices, and its role as a key educator in the growing creative industries sector, combine to create a dynamic, multidisciplinary learning environment that is significant within the region and  distinctive nationally.

The School of the Arts, English and Media is seeking an outstanding person to provide academic leadership in the development and delivery of the Master of Communication and Media. Duties include curriculum design, subject coordination and delivery, higher degree research supervision, administration, governance and the mentoring of casual and sessional staff. Initially, the position will coordinate the development of the Master of Communication and Media program, and contribute teaching and leadership in the Bachelor of Communication and Media, including the development of additional majors in the Bachelor program. Alongside teaching related activities, a further purpose of the position is to undertake an active program of research in some area relevant to the overall discipline; and to assist in promoting the discipline’s programs and in developing and fostering links to relevant organisations and community groups.

The successful candidate is expected to have academic qualifications and significant professional experience in the field of Communication and Media, as well as demonstrated experience in developing and delivering innovative programs of relevant tertiary level study.
