Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a School Support Administrator to join the team based at our Merchiston Campus. This is a permanent part time opportunity working 25 hours, 12pm - 5pm Monday to Friday.

At the heart of our University sits our School Support Service. Pertinent to both the day-to-day organisation of our Schools and our work into diverse and exciting research and projects; our School Support Service delivers flexible and resilient support to students and academic staff across the University. Simply put, through excellent customer service, we anticipate users' needs and deliver support services that are efficient, accessible and intuitive to our users.

The role

This role is based at our Ipoint service at Merchiston which is reception area and focal point for any customer queries. This is a busy customer facing environment where we offer a friendly and professional service to a range of stakeholders including service users; students, academics and other visitors to the university campus.

As well as answering telephone calls and emails, welcoming students, academic staff and visitors, the School Support Administrator will also undertake a wide range of administrative tasks to support the wider workload within our Campus Groups.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent), or will be able to evidence having worked previously within a similar capacity to this role. You will ideally have prior reception and administrative experience, along with excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

You will be comfortable with working to agreed deadlines and will be able to work on your own, taking initiative and responsibility for accurately completing tasks. You should have excellent computer literacy (MS Office Programmes and network based email in particular).
