  • Located in The Charles Perkins Centre in the University of Sydney, Camperdown
  • 3 Year, fixed Term, full time position. Base salary: $74K – 96K p.a and up to 17% superannuation

About the opportunity 

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate you will be a key member of the team working on research projects which explore the link between oral and general health i.e. this includes diabetes, cardiovascular disease, adverse pregnancy outcomes and mental health. As the successful candidate you will design, conduct and analyse clinical and experimental (animal) studies that are aimed to explore the association between oral and general health with a special focus on translational research.

This role will interact with researchers and clinicians of multiple backgrounds and various stakeholders from multi displinary backgrounds.

This is an exciting newly created full time opportunity to work closely with Professor Joerg Eberhard  and the team aiming to solve complex issues related to oral health and general health.

  • A PhD or equivalent degree in clinical medicine, dentistry, oral health therapy, dietetics, nutritional research or closely related discipline (must be finished before application)
  • Demonstrate understanding of oral health and its link to general health
  • Experience in the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials
  • Experience in basic molecular biology techniques, such as PCR and histology 
  • Experience in data analysis including the use of statistical programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and across disciplines
