Job description

Registry is the administrative hub of the University and is responsible for a wide range of functions. It includes governance, risk and compliance, managing the student journey from enrolment to graduation and support of quality processes to maintain academic standards.

An opportunity has arisen within central Registry for a permanent Senior Registry Officer post based in the Group Resolution Unit.

GRU is a student facing service providing administrative support and guidance to both staff and students on academic appeals, student complaints and student disciplinary processes.

Working within a highly regulated environment, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the unit by responding and dealing effectively with enquiries from staff, students, external organisations and members of the public.  You will be involved in investigating and responding to student complaints, academic appeals, academic misconduct cases and student disciplinaries. You will provide advice and training for staff on the University regulations and processes in relation to these duties. You will be expected to provide full secretarial support for University level Student Disciplinary Panels and Academic Appeal Panels.  In addition you will deal directly with the Higher Education Ombudsman (Office of the Independent Adjudicator - OIA) with regard to any cases brought to the University Group in relation to any outcomes relating to complaints, disciplinaries and appeals that have completed all internal University processes.   

You should have a high level of administration skills, a 'can do' attitude, be able to use your initiative to proactively resolve problems as they arise and an ability to deal with conflict situations on a regular basis. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  In addition, your attention to detail must be of a very high standard.

Ideally applicants will have experience of working within this sector, however full training will be provided.
