This is an exciting opportunity to join University of the West of Scotland (UWS), one of Higher Education's most innovative modern universities.

We have 4 vibrant campuses across the West of Scotland as well as a campus in Central London.

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to ensure that the payroll and pension processes provide an efficient, accurate and timely payroll and pension service to all UWS employees and pensioners.

You will work with the HR Services team to ensure that all changes are completed in accordance with agreed timescales and you will support the HR Systems and Payroll Manager to develop and implement lean processes within the payroll and pension function.

You will be responsible for keeping up to date with current HMRC legislation requirements and ensuring that all payroll and pensions external customers’ tasks are actioned accurately and that they receive monthly and annual returns within the appropriate timeframe.

You will also work with the Finance Department to ensure all monthly and annual reports/tasks are completed effectively and you will contribute to payroll and pensions policies and procedures as well as system development and enhancement.

The successful individual will hold a recognised payroll and pension qualification or have equivalent relevant experience. You will also have knowledge and experience of integrated HR/Payroll systems with the ability to prioritise workload and have excellent attention to detail.

You will have highly developed IT skills with the ability to use advanced functions within Excel and will also possess excellent customer service skills.

You will be a team player with good communication skills and the ability to build relationships within the team and across the University.
