Overview:

The School of Business and Management (SBM) seeks to recruit an outstanding educator to a Senior Lectureship in Management. This is a Teaching and Scholarship focused position which offers an exceptional opportunity for a passionate educator and educational leader to lead on the School’s employer engagement and development of students’ employability and wider skills.

The post holder will assume the leadership role of Director of Skills and Employer Engagement for an initial period of 3 years to develop strategy and oversee delivery in this area for the School, both within and outside the mainstream curriculum.

Applicants for the senior lectureship will be established academics with strong teaching and educational leadership records, qualified to at least post-doctoral level with a specialism in management, and will ideally have practitioner experience. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the capacity for excellent teaching in a UK university context and for driving innovation in teaching and learning.

The successful candidate should be able to contribute to, and lead, teaching on our undergraduate programmes and MSc programmes. The precise area of teaching focus will be negotiated based on the candidate’s expertise, but could appropriately include areas such as marketing, financial management, entrepreneurship, operations management, responsible business, international business management, employment and skills, leadership and management development, coaching and/or professional development.

Colleagues on Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) contracts have access to a full range of professional development support, including an annual allowance to support their scholarship or pedagogical activities. Queen Mary recently revised the college’s promotion guidelines to provide comprehensive and clear promotion routes for T&S staff up to and including the academic rank of professor.

Starting salary will be in the range £55,840 - £62,415 per annum inclusive of London Allowance and include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme, and interest-free travel season ticket loan.
