About the role and college
The School of Education is one school within the College of Design and Social Context and offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in education, pre-service teacher education, early childhood education, educational research, professional learning and short courses.
The School is committed to teaching, research and engagement that improves the quality of education, work and life for people and systems in formal and informal settings. Collaborating with a variety of partners, we strive to co-create teaching, learning and professional development experiences that are engaging, industry responsive and evidence-informed.
As a lecturer, you will take the initiative in developing, delivering and evaluating learning materials to ensure your students receive a rewarding learning experience. Additionally, you will supervise research projects at the postgraduate level and provide advice to students with questions and matters relating to their learning. Furthermore, this position will entail the individual to undertake professional activities, that boast the schools research efforts.
About you
You will be empathetic, approachable and understanding of students learning needs. Moreover, your aptitude to prepare and deliver a range of learning activities will be highly advantageous to your success in this role. Additionally, you will have experience in course coordination and render advice to fellow academics on learning material. As a seasoned lecturer in the early childhood education domain, you will efficiently deliver innovative learning material in the primary/middle school settings. Academically, you will have an emerging track record of quality research outputs and develop new research initiatives and industry links. You will be passionate about developing competent early childhood education teachers.
Qualifications
Mandatory: PhD in relevant field
Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check
Preferred: Completion of the Essentials in Tertiary Teaching Practice program or equivalent[1] (if the appointed candidate does not meet this requirement at time of appointment, they will be supported to complete this as a requirement to fulfil their probation).
