Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join our highly committed Nursing team within the School of Nursing as a Nurse Educator (full time). This post is to offer the opportunity for registered nurses to commence a nurse academic career within a team of highly committed nurse academics. The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and visionary, keen to shape Nurse education and work with the nursing team to enhance the clinical skills of pre-registration student nurses and trainee nursing associates.

Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and be educated to graduate level in a health related subject. The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake one upon appointment. Nursing and Trainee Nursing Associate programmes are delivered at a number of sites, including Preston, Burnley and Westlakes.

Contemporary practice experience is essential, and you'll have a keen interest in developments in the field. You'll be committed to the success of your students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in the classroom, skills laboratory and in practice areas. Experience in higher education and/or the teaching and assessing of student nurses in practice is essential.  There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will teach across a range of courses and there will be specific focus on clinical skills education in the university and clinical placement settings.
