Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Lecturer (several posts) in the School of English (Ref.: 498968), to commence on or before January 15, 2020 for one semester, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
The School of English invites applicants to teach courses, on a per-course basis, in the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing in English, beginning potentially in the second semester of 2019-20, and for possible openings thereafter. More information on the MFA programme is available at: https://www.hkuguild.com/hku-mfa-in-creative-writing/. Those who can only teach from September 2020 are also welcome to apply.
Applicants should have in hand by January 2020 a completed MFA or Ph.D. degree in Creative Writing, along with substantial publications in their chosen genre, including at least one book from a local or international press. Those with strong teaching experience are preferred, but no formal teaching degree is required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
