This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with approximately 80 academic staff and 40 postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. 45 administrative and technical staff support the staff and students. The staff and student body are international in make-up. The School is partway through a refurbishment project that is upgrading research and teaching space. The School holds a departmental-level Bronze Athena SWAN award and is committed to equality of opportunity.

About the role

The School of Engineering and Materials Science is seeking to appoint a PA to the Head of School & Finance Officer. The primary function of the post is to offer PA support to the Head of School, but the post holder will also support the existing Finance team by raising Purchase Order requisitions for certain groups of purchases.

The post is a full time appointment, with an expected start date of January 2020. Starting salary will be in the range of £27,742 - £34,220 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
