The University is seeking to recruit one Lecturer in Data Science, who wishes to embark on an academic career conducting research and lecturing on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The post would be ideally suited for a recent PhD in Data Science, or any area including significant expertise in applied statistics. Candidates should have a background that would complement our existing activities, with a particular interest in financial data analysis and/or mathematical biology.

The successful candidate will work closely with departmental academic teams and be expected to contribute to existing teaching and research.  The successful candidate will choose one of the University three careers pathways: Teaching and Scholarship, Research, or Enterprise. Candidates interested in the Research pathway will be expected to join one of our existing research teams relevant to their specialism.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong research profile as well as teaching experience commensurate to your career stage. You will have a good first degree (1^st or 2:1) in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics, engineering, or applied sciences), together with a PhD.
