About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for an Educational Design Support Officer on a 12-month, fixed term basis to provide operational support to Academic and Teaching staff across the Faculty and to support the teaching requirements of the Faculty. This person will implement educational resources aligned to the needs of the work area by creating, developing, testing and implementing educational resources, driving innovation in the provision of eLearning sites and student learning experiences and providing practical solutions and delivering tools.
This opportunity will work in close collaboration with academic and teaching staff to develop innovative online multimedia resources whilst playing a leading role in adoption of innovations in eLearning, identifying and implementing new technologies, and developing education designs to improve learning outcomes that enhance the student learning experience. This person will also be responsible for providing expert advice, training and support to staff to make the best use of educational technology to deliver engaging and effective courses.

- Tertiary qualifications in education and/or information technology with well- developed technical knowledge acquired through work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
- Experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment.
- Experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas.
- Demonstrated capability of Well-developed negotiation skills, conflict resolution abilities, relationship building and the ability to work as part of a team.
The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties operating within the University and includes the Schools of Chemistry, Geosciences, History and Philosophy of Science, Life and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Psychology, and the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. The Faculty stewards a range of research entities including the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, and partners with University-wide research centres including the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), the Brain and Mind Centre (BMC) and the University of Sydney Nano Institute.
The role of Educational Design Support Officer is part of the Education team. This team is responsible for delivery of support for educational quality (including support for student survey results, academic standards), educational innovation, educational design, faculty-based appeals, educational integrity, and, at the school level, support around unit of study administration (e.g. unit of study outlines, in-semester assessment, component marks and results, and interactions with the Disability Services Unit).
