Applications are invited for the post of Placements Officer in the Careers & Employability Service.

The Careers & Employability Service, located in the prestigious new Library & Student Services building at the heart of the campus, is responsible for delivering a wide range of employability services to all students and academic departments of Royal Holloway to improve student satisfaction and graduate destinations. The service provides over 20,000 employability interventions including placements activities, on campus employer events, vacancy sourcing and promotion, the Royal Holloway Employability Award and targeted careers delivery in all academic departments.

Reporting to the Head of Placements and Student Experience, the post holder will have responsibility of coordinating and delivering student recruitment activities for work-based learning activities, in particular short-term placements, to build strong relationships with businesses to source suitable work experience opportunities and to support students throughout the placements process. Furthermore, the successful candidate will support the Student Experience Officers in the provision of excellent customer service delivery at the Help Desk. Increasing the number of students who engage with work experience that improves graduate employability is a strategic priority for the College, so the post-holder will join the Careers & Employability Service at an exciting period of ongoing investment.

The appointee will require a high level of planning and organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure and to resolve problems effectively. The successful candidate will also have experience of working to targets and deadlines, building effective relationships and of working in a strongly customer-focused environment. Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills are also essential as is computer literacy in MS Office.
