Professor in Obesity

Leeds Beckett University, School of Clinical and Applied Sciences

Within the School of Clinical and Applied Sciences we are seeking an exceptional, internationally renowned academic to join our School as a Professor in an area relating to obesity.

With an excellent track record in obesity research you will join our growing research community, attract research funding and provide leadership and direction to deliver high quality, impactful research. With first class leadership and management skills, you will manage a research team, work with Heads of Subject and Schools to deliver the strategic objectives of the University.

Leeds Beckett University has an established reputation in Applied Obesity Research. Through strong collaborations with NHS, local authority, public health and industry partners our research focus is to further the understanding of obesity development and identify effective preventative and management approaches.

In contributing towards the senior leadership of our exciting University-wide Applied Obesity Research Centre, you will work with colleagues across several of our academic Schools. This research centre currently has themes across: Prevention and Management, Obesity Environment, Weight Stigma and Discrimination, Whole systems Approach and we are seeking to appoint an excellent candidate who can contribute to, or diversify, these research themes. We are also keen to hear from exceptional candidates across any discipline that intersects with obesity

The successful candidate will have an internationally recognised profile in academic research, a PhD in a relevant discipline, and extensive academic experience - including having previously secured substantial external research and/or enterprise funding.
