The Black Dog Institute is a Medical Research Institute affiliated with UNSW Sydney, and a global leader in translational mental health research. The Institute has the latest technology and other tools to quickly turn our world-class research findings into clinical services, education and e-health products that improve the lives of people with mental illness and the wider community.
We are seeking a Research Fellow who will collect, analyse and critically appraise the e-Mental health research program. The program involves design, implementation and evaluation of research trials of existing stepped care models (for adults and young people) to develop a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of these models for reducing the burden created by mental illness in Australia.
Your role will involve evaluation of the stepped care models using quantitative and qualitative methods; develop research trial protocols and procedures; provide research expertise, capacity to analyse and interpret both existing and new data related to mental health; develop data mining and collection plan; prepare grant applications, publications and supervise research staffs and students.
To be successful you will have:
- A PhD in the area of psychology, psychiatry, public health, e-health, health services or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead rigorous scientific investigations using quantitative methods to solve complex research questions and problems.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting quantitative analysis with some expertise in qualitative research methods.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in implementation science and translational research methodology.
- Experience in grant writing and ethics submissions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills
