We are looking for a Senior Information Assistant to join our Information & Operations team. This role is critical to the successful delivery of a responsive, high quality customer centric experience for our Staff and Students.

The University is continuing to make a significant investment in its IT and digital services provision to ensure the delivery of a consistent, high quality IT and services across the University. Information Services provide innovative and reliable IT and Library services which are continually being adapted to meet the changing needs of the staff and students in a rapidly changing technology environment.

The University's Information & Operations team provides innovative, reliable services that are continually adapted to meet the changing needs of staff and students, supporting them to become world class professionals. Information & Operations assist students, staff and guests in their use of the University's broad range of technologies and library services, helping them work smarter, faster and easier.

The role 

The key focus of the role will to provide the efficient day-to-day management of the Library Help Desk to support our Students and Staff to maintain a suitable environment for study and research. They will deal with Library enquires, stock management, access to the resources and helping Library users with basic IT queries. This may be face-to-face, by phone or electronically.

The post holder contributes to the supervision of colleagues, coordination of their work, oversight of staff issues for those within the allocated team including people management, progression and review of performance.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Candidates will be excellent communicators, with experience of handling customers enquiries face to face, telephone and electronically and will have experience of using a library management system
  • Key to this position are strong customer focused experience along with a good working knowledge of common Library and IT applications, internet and digital information services
