The School of Law is committed to excellence and innovation in teaching, research and community engagement. It has a research focus on International Governance (including environmental law and corporate social responsibility); and Social Justice issues.

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will be expected to make a substantial contribution to:

  • The teaching of Law, curriculum development and quality improvement, particularly in the area of clinical legal education.
  • The research direction of the School, including regular publication in high impact national and international journals and the acquisition of competitive external research funding.
  • The supervision of honours, masters and higher degree research students.
  • The administration and development of postgraduate professional programs.

A Level B (Lecturer) academic is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the School and University, and is expected to carry out activities to maintain and develop their research, scholarly and professional activities in areas relevant to their discipline.

A Level B academic will have PhD qualifications (or near completion) and should have experience recognised by the institution as appropriate for the relevant discipline area. In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard is given to experience in teaching, research, activities outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievements.

A level C academic will have PhD qualifications and recognised significant experience in the relevant discipline area. At Level C the appointee will normally require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline.

A Level C (Senior Lecturer) academic is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the School and University. An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.

All academic staff are expected to contribute to the strategic directions of the School.

Remuneration Package:

Academic Level B $120,440 to $142,118 p.a. (comprising Salary $101,773 to $120,175, plus 17% Superannuation, plus Leave Loading)

Academic Level C $146,420 to $167,961 p.a. (comprising Salary $123,852 to $142,263, plus 17% Superannuation, plus Leave Loading)
