Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our School Support Service at our Craiglockhart Campus.
This is a full time, permanent position to provide team administration to one of our Business Schools.
At the heart of our University sits our School Support Service. Pertinent to both the day-to-day organisation of our Schools and our work into diverse and exciting research and projects; our School Support Service delivers flexible and resilient support to students and academic staff across the University. Simply put, through excellent customer service, we anticipate users' needs and deliver support services that are efficient, accessible and intuitive to our users.
The role
The role holder will be tasked with supporting the function of a particular subject area and will support each academic member of staff working within that area. The role holder will also work on individual projects, and may have responsibility for coordinating and clerking meetings. The role holder will also be required to take on ad hoc tasks and general duties, as appropriate.
This may include support for:
- Academic staff particularly programme and module leaders
- Maintenance of the student record
- Timetabling
- Academic quality and external accreditation
- Committee servicing
Please note you may need to work across all three of our Campuses when required.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent), or will be able to evidence having worked previously within a similar capacity to this role. You will ideally have prior administrative experience, be a strong communicator with excellent relationship building skills and have strong demonstrable experience of managing customer relationships. As this role is largely customer facing and support focussed candidates should be able to evidence the ability to develop effective working relationships. You will be comfortable with working to agreed deadlines and will enjoy working within a team environment.
Knowledge of SITS would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary: Grade 3 - GBP 21,814- GBP 25,941 per annum
