Applications are invited for appointment as Half-time Research Officer in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 499001), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess: (i) a Master’s degree in Social Science or a related field; (ii) over 10 years of research experience in conducting evidence-based educational research projects; (iii) solid statistical and computer skills (including SPSS, Word, Excel, etc.); (iv) experience in handling large qualitative and quantitative datasets; (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (vi) highly developed organizational and administrative skills; and (vii) the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research.
The appointee will assist the Project Investigator in conducting research and analysis on students’ performance on Chinese language proficiency, processing data, conducting text analysis, drafting research reports, presenting analytical findings, and perform other duties as assigned.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
