Assistant Professor, Department of Special Education
The Department of Special Education, College of Education at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. Qualified candidates are expected to have a wide range of experience in the field of special education. Additionally, candidates should have experience in scholarly research in the area of special education and a strong commitment to teaching and service. Candidates who are specialize in the area of gifted education will be preferred. The UAEU is the first and leading comprehensive national university in the United Arab Emirates. Established in 1976 by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAEU has grown to over 700 faculty members in ten faculties and educates over 12,000 students. The instructional language is English. Approximately 75% of the University students are female. The College of Education strives to lead the ongoing focus of education with its federal partners across the Emirates. Candidates are expected to have evidence of established research and experience in securing external funding. Interested individuals should include in their application package a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vita, teaching philosophy, a brief description of current/future research activities, courses taught and names, with email addresses of three referees. Candidates should have an earned doctorate in the area of Special Education (or any related field) from an internationally recognized university.
Formal qualifications in the area of gifted education will be preferred.
