About the role

Due to an internal promotion, SAE Creative Media Institute is looking for a new General Manager for SAE Australasia.  SAE is an established dual sector provider specialising in creative industries.  Reporting to the Executive General Manager Creative Media, this leadership role is responsible for the development and execution of strategic and operational plans that drive growth, profitability and quality education outcomes.  If you have a passion for education, outstanding commercial skills, a natural ability to inspire people and a desire to join a fun, global organisation poised for growth, this could be the role for you!

The person we seek will ideally have the following:

  • Significant senior/executive leadership and management experience, preferably in higher education and vocational education
  • Ability to simplify complex operational ideas to develop clear strategies
  • Excellent operational planning and organisational skills having worked with diverse people, structures and locations
  • Strong record of delivering on financial and business performance expectations
  • Evidence of achieving targeted objectives in challenging, competitive environments
  • History of developing and negotiating new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change to achieve strategic objectives
  • Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills leading and enhancing relationships with key regulatory bodies, industry associations, government and other relevant stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work in and foster a collegial working environment
  • An inclusive and consultative style
  • Action-orientation, a willingness to be progressive, take calculated risks and challenge status quo
  • Forward thinking and able to achieve success through others
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to make good judgement calls regarding people and situations
  • Transparent with approach, vision and communication
  • Post-graduate business studies or equivalent
  • Ability to travel across Australia and New Zealand regularly and internationally as required
