The Lecturer, Computer Science is located in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. The Department undertakes a wide range of teaching and research programs in the area of data sciences, computational intelligence, software engineering, cybersecurity and mobile and wireless computing.

About the positions

This position aims to further enhance the Department’s research and teaching capabilities in the area of Artificial Intelligence. This is a newly created position that will teach into the new Masters of AI course at La Trobe University in 2020.

Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Computer vision and digital media
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Robotics and intelligent system

In addition, the candidate will be required to develop, coordinate and deliver a high-quality computer science learning experience that engages students using a blended approach. Conduct and publish high quality and/or high impact research publications and contribute to writing up research findings.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for the position you will have completed a PhD in a relevant field or possess an Industry or Professional Certification.  You will have a demonstrated capacity to independently and effectively conduct lectures, tutorials, assessments and examination marking in both face-to-face and online mode. You will also have evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published, and a growing record of scholarly publications in refereed journals and conferences.
