Research Associate or Research Fellow - Artificial Intelligence in Cancer/Cardiovascular disease
We are seeking to appoint two data scientists/engineers to develop and apply state-of-the-art AI methods to benefit patient outcomes at St Thomas’ Hospital and other major London centres for a range cancers and cardiovascular diseases.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and integrating tools for clinical and imaging data analysis and reporting, including imaging and statistical modelling for analysing outcomes in relation to imaging biomarkers for cancer.
The role will require the use of databases, and the development and deployment of data science methodologies, including deep learning techniques, and will determine how these tools can be successfully integrated into the clinical workflow for the benefit of patients. The applicant should have some knowledge and experience of machine learning, including deep learning, (medical) image analysis / computer vision. The position would appeal to a candidate with strong software development skills (Python), also including relevant machine learning packages (Tensorflow, Pytorch). An interest in cancer or cardiac imaging is important, but previous experience is not essential.
