Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic
The Australian National University (ANU) is one of the great universities of the world and is unique in Australia. ANU is charting a new strategic course to redefine the role of a contemporary national university.
With its reputation for excellence, strong ties to the Australian Government and special standing as a resource for the Australian people, ANU is recognised internationally for its intellectual leadership in research, education and policy engagement.
ANU is seeking an innovative and inspirational academic leader as its next Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) to lead the creation of an ambitious, bold and transformative approach to learning and teaching and a student experience that sits amongst the world’s best. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) will also contribute to the broader strategic direction of ANU as a senior member of the University’s leadership team.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate visionary strategic leadership across the span of a university’s academic enterprise. This includes academic performance, learning and teaching, and the creation of an exceptional student experience. Equally important are the skills and experience to navigate a complex higher education environment, and the passion to drive fundamental strategic change.
Our next Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) will be a senior leader who works best in a collaborative environment. They will possess a collegial leadership style, sophisticated influencing skills, and the ability to effectively lead teams in a complex environment.
