Lecturer (Level B) $97,577 - $115,495 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply.

Fixed term position available for three (3) years from 3rd February 2020. This position may be convertible to continuing at the end of the 3 year term, subject to given ongoing need in this area and and satisfactory performance.

An opportunity for a Lecturer to join the team to undertake teaching and research in the field of media studies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in coordinating, teaching and developing new curricula in a range of areas of media studies and media practice, including media law and policy, public relations and social media, and strategic communication. You will teach in the Bachelor of Media program, and also in postgraduate Media courses. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of current media industry practices and technologies, an outstanding track record of scholarly activities reflecting international standards of media research, including research funding and consultancy activities. You will have the ability to supervise students in media and media industry research.  Candidates must have a PhD in Media Studies or a closely-aligned discipline, and the ability to demonstrate relevant professional or industry experience will be an advantage.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Media Studies, or a closely aligned discipline.
  • Proven ability to teach and develop new curricula in social media, strategic communication and public relations literacies.
  • Ability to teach in areas of media law and policy regulation.
