Modern slavery is one of the major human rights issues of our time. After escape, many survivors report post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, but little is known about what helps survivors to recover. This three-year post-doctoral position provides an exciting opportunity to investigate the effectiveness of advocacy interventions in improving the mental health and wellbeing of survivors of modern slavery. The study is funded by NIHR and comprises a cohort study of survivors of modern slavery and a mixed methods realist evaluation.
The post-holder will have experience of conducting survey and/or qualitative research with people who have experienced violence and abuse. They will have excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the strategic and operational management skills required to ensure the successful planning and execution of the project. Previous experience in research management and coordination is desirable, and willingness to travel within England is required.
This post will be offered on fixed term contract for up to 36 months or until 31 October 2022
This is a full-time post.
The selection process will include a panel interview and presentation.
