This is an exciting opportunity to join a team on a three-year project funded by the Wellcome to investigate morbidity, mortality and occupational health in the Victorian and Edwardian Post Office. The project seeks to make a fundamental contribution to our understanding of health and sickness in nineteenth and twentieth-century Britain. The main purpose of the role is to develop and oversee the record linkage relating to mortality in the Post Office workforce during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The postholder will be involved in the analysis and writing up of the findings, as well as assisting with public engagement events. They will be expected to present the research at conferences and to participate in the supervision of a doctoral student.

This is one of two posts that are being advertised relating to this project, one at King's College and the other at Kingston University. Candidates are invited to apply for one or both.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 36 months.
