- Fixed term, full-time appointment (two years)
The position will be responsible for the operation and management of molecular analytical facilities including a qPCR and an ONT GridION X5 Sequencer. This appointee will also work on an ARC Discovery project which aims to develop a real-time and low-cost genomic tool to monitor and track pathogens in urban wastewater systems by integrating the third-generation sequencing platform, bioinformatics and modelling, lab reactor experiments, field studies, high-precision biomarker analysis and sewage epidemiology approaches.
To be successful, the appointee should possess a PhD in genomics or bioinformatics, molecular biology, environmental microbiology or other related disciplines, and have experience in sequencing of environmental or wastewater microbiome, using NGS or nanopore sequencing. Certain vaccinations will be required to work with environmental samples.
