Research staff at QUB are also entitled to up to 10 days per year to spend on activities benefiting their career development.

Our five core values - Integrity, Connected, Ambition, Respect, Excellence - are shared by our staff and students, representing the expectations we have for ourselves and each other, guiding our day-to-day decisions and the way we behave as individuals in an international organisation.

The School of Pharmacy at Queen's has been ranked 2nd in the latest rankings in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 for Pharmacology and Pharmacy.

We are recruiting for a Research Fellow who will be part of a Versus Arthritis funded group led by Prof Helen McCarthy.  The work will involve assessment of class III medical device loaded with nanoparticles for non-union fracture repair. This position will involve interactions with local arthritis charities and patients. The Research Fellow will be required to perform a range of cutting edge methodologies, through both in vitro and in vivo modelling to assess the safety and efficiency of a thermo-responsive hydrogel loaded with hydroxyapatite nanoparticles. The successful candidate will be an active member of a research project/team assisting in the planning and delivery of the research activity within a specified area, so that the overall research objectives of the project/school are met.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Have or be about to obtain a PhD in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biological Science or a closely allied discipline.
  • At least 3 years recent, relevant research experience with peptide nanoparticles.
