You will contribute to delivery of our successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in maritime management and logistics, nautical science, and marine and offshore engineering. You should be able to offer specialisms in: maritime law; international commercial law; regulation of ship management. You should have a postgraduate qualification plus a track record of published research and/or development and delivery of teaching, and ideally membership of a professional body.

You should have knowledge and understanding of the National Student Survey (NSS) and Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). You should also play an active role to contribute towards the Faculty strategic aims in Scholarship, Research and Knowledge Transfer.

With over 4,000 students and 250 staff, the Faculty specialises in Astrophysics, Maritime and Mechanical Engineering; Electronics and Electrical Engineering; Built Environment; Civil Engineering; Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. We have one overarching Engineering and Technology Research Institute and we are the coordinating Faculty for three cross-university groups: Open Labs, the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Lairdside, which provide the platforms for inter-disciplinary partnerships on a range of emerging initiatives and funding opportunities.

The Faculty is poised to make a real step-change in the way that academia
works with business, we have entered into a new partnership with the maritime industry to create a unique global knowledge hub to bridge the shortage of skills in the engineering and maritime sector. The hub will be further strengthened by a new Manufacturing Technology Centre to build knowledge and understanding about the manufacturing technologies.
