The Research Fellow will be working on a research project on Forced Marriage Protection Orders (FMPO), funded by the Nuffield Foundation. The key areas of work relate to collation and analysis of reported judgements of court cases in England & Wales on FMPO and police case files on forced marriage. The post will also entail collation of data held by six police forces and the generation of basic descriptive statistics. The Research Fellow will work under the supervision of Professor Sundari Anitha (University of Lincoln) and Professor Aisha K. Gill (University of Roehampton).

The post will be based in the College of Social Science at the University of Lincoln. The University has established a reputation as one of the most dynamic, fastest growing universities in the UK. Situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city it has built an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research. Lincoln is currently ranked 22nd overall in the UK in The Guardian University Guide and 42nd in the Times Good University Guide 2019. The School of Social and Political Sciences where the post is based houses Politics and International Relations, Criminology, Social Policy and Sociology. The School has a well-established and expanding academic profile in both learning and teaching, and research. The study is an exciting new phase in the expansion of social sciences research at the University of Lincoln.

Offered on a full time basis the post is available for one year. Ideally the candidate will be available to take up the position by February 2020 when the study commences. There is potential flexibility in relation to the location of the candidate, though the post will entail travel within England & Wales.
