We are seeking to appoint a postdoctoral Neuroscientist to join the King’s College London Dementia Research Institute (DRI), funded by the Medical Research Council, Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK – This is a national consortium focused on cutting-edge dementia research.

The primary research interest of the group involves understanding the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), identify potential therapeutic target(s) for cognitive deficit. Evidence suggests that changes to the synaptic function and synaptic connectivity are severely dysregulated by AD. These research projects therefore center on trying to understand how such processes become impaired in several pathogens.

The post holder will complete molecular biology assays, multi-photon confocal imaging and optogenetics in hippocampal slice models. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact within other DRI centres and potential further training depending on the candidate profile.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 2 years.

This is a full-time post.

The selection process will include a panel interview and 7 minutes presentation.
