Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is one of the UK’s leading research-intensive higher education institutions, and is a member of the Russell Group.

The University seeks to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and project support to the Director of the Queen Mary Global Policy Institute. The new Institute aims to connect Queen Mary academics with overseas policymakers to address global challenges through a programme of visiting fellowships, tailored continual professional development, events and partnerships with international universities and other organisations.

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of the Global Policy Institute, ensuring they are fully briefed and prepared for all activities and to ensure the smooth and effective running of their diary, travel schedule, and the Institute’s programme of events. In addition to core administrative duties, the Executive Assistant will be a first point of contact for the new Institute, interacting with a wide range of senior individuals and organisations, and trusted to represent the Institute with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.

Excellent written and oral communication skills including internal and external report writing are needed, as are high level interpersonal skills. Prior experience of supporting the design, marketing, and promotion of events and associated materials, using relevant software and social media channels, would be advantageous. The Executive Assistant will also need to support management of the Institute budget.

The post is a permanent appointment and is part time, to be appointed on a 0.6 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) basis – 21 hours per week. The salary range for this role is £34,220 - £40,194 on a 0.6 FTE pro rata basis i.e. £20,532 - ££24,116. Salary is inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
