Overview:

The Research Applications Team Leader is accountable for the design and delivery of high quality, customer focused, responsive and secure IT services to ensure delivery of Research IT Services and the University’s Strategic goals. The team leader manages a small team of technical experts, who are highly competent in using expertise and modern methodologies to support the University’s High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and promote wider use of Tier2 HPC facilities.

The Research Applications Team Leader will use inter-personal and advanced technical skills to deliver a high quality service utilising Linux, HPC, open-source software, scripting, git workflows, containers, puppet automation, monitoring, and to manage a customer-focused team to provide high quality research software support to researchers in the University.

The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £47,325 - £52,883 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, comprehensive pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
