This is an exciting opportunity to join the Brussels Office of Coventry University, and to proactively support the European and international priorities of the Coventry University Group.

As part of our ambitious growth strategy for research and our plans for future developments around teaching and learning, we are committed to growing our European activities further.

This role will support Coventry University Group's engagement in European policy developments on research and innovation, raise the profile of the University Group through building relationships with policy makers, influencers and other relevant institutions, proactively support research funding proposals and the showcasing of research best practice, as well as identifying opportunities to influence and shape policy, and help build partnerships and contacts within Coventry's research priority areas.

Your demonstrable experience of working in a policy advisor role and political understanding of the European commission and associated policy environment will enable you to take a lead role in prioritising, understanding and advising on EU policy relating to higher education and research & innovation. Your innovative approach and strong networking skills will see you identify and nurture opportunities for the University Group further its research interests with universities, research institutes and businesses across Europe.

With a strong background in EU research policy and funding, including experience in preparing briefings, consultation responses and project proposals, you will undertake high-quality research into relevant policy areas and potential funding opportunities. Supporting the reputation of Coventry University group in Brussels, you will represent the group at meetings, conferences and other relevant events. This post will require significant travel around Europe, as well as time spent in Coventry, developing internal relationships.
