An opportunity has arisen for the role of Associate Director of Pre-sessional English (PSE) courses at CU Services as a fixed term part-time post (job share). As part of our drive forq uality assurance, our Pre-sessional English courses have been fully accreditedby BALEAP. We also provide In-sessional support to students across the university, and are continuing to diversify our portfolio of courses as we move forward.
Overview of role:
The Associate Directors of Pre-sessional English Courses collectively assist the Director of PSE in ensuring successful delivery of all operational aspects of courses delivered by CU Services, including assisting in strategic planning, managing new projects and courses, and incorporating innovationst o meet evolving demands and opportunities within the business.
Each Associate Director should expect to work across all areas of the provision and so flexibility is required. These include development, delivery and evaluation of pre-sessional EAP courses, in-sessional support, online delivery,and provision overseas. This is a fixed term one year contract with the potential for renewal at the end of the term. We are aiming for the appointed person to be in post to start in January 2020 if possible.
A first degree, plus a postgraduate qualification in anappropriate subject area is essential (see Job Specifications for furtherdetails). Applications from candidates with a specific EAP qualification areencouraged.
Candidates must also have experience of leading/managingEAP courses, and significant experience of teaching English for AcademicPurposes in a HEI context.
Remuneration: GBP 38,896- GBP 47,538 pro rata
