The University of the West of Scotland is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that aims to change lives, transform communities and encourage enterprise through outstanding, distinctive and progressive higher education.

Strategic Planning is a small team at the heart of the University, responsible for the development and deployment of business intelligence to inform institutional policy and performance.

We are seeking to appoint an impressive leader to a newly-created role to help drive a performance culture across the University and to lead a team of strategic planners to deliver strategic data analysis, policy development and statistical returns

The post will involve working with key external stakeholders (e.g. Scottish Funding Council (SFC), Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA)) to maintain a strong understanding of trends and developments in the sector and to advise senior management on policy or regulatory changes which will impact the University.  The role holder will be forward-thinking and will seek to derive added-value from the team’s work in completing statutory, statistical returns and, as lead officer for the UWS HESA Student Return, will work with colleagues to drive improvements in performance.

As team leader, the Planning and Performance Manager will oversee a diverse portfolio delivering on key internal priorities such as enhancing the student experience, assessing league table performance and deriving and managing key performance indicators.
