Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) at Lancaster University seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate at lecturer level who is able to contribute to our successful undergraduate BA Fine Art programme, and the development of new programmes at undergraduate and MA level.

The post is open to candidates with a research specialism in contemporary painting practice who can also contribute to current debates in Fine Art. Applicants with expertise in all relevant areas of Fine Art Painting are invited, and those using a combination of practical and theoretical research methods are especially welcomed.

You will develop and deliver teaching for our core modules on our aforementioned undergraduate programme. This will involve a mixture of studio and lecture-based teaching with an emphasis on encouraging and enabling independent learning within and outside of the studio. Experience developing and facilitating live briefs with research initiatives and external partners will be an advantage for applicants.

As LICA is committed to research-led teaching, you must be able to demonstrate an established or growing profile of excellent research. Finally, you will be expected to have the commitment and necessary competences to participate in the Department’s everyday administrative functions.
