The School of Education at Victoria University of Wellington invites applications for the position of Professor/Associate Professor in Pasifika-Pacific Education. This is a permanent, full-time position and commences in January 2020.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, suitable qualified academic to step in to an academic leadership role, guide a strategic vision for Pacific/Pasifika education and contribute to research and teaching in the School in the area of Pacific-Pasifika education and wellbeing within New Zealand and the Pacific region.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in Education or a related discipline, an excellent research profile and extensive teaching experience at tertiary level. If appointed as Professor, the appointee will be expected to take a leadership role in the Programmes related to Pasifika-Pacific education.

The successful applicant will be expected to develop new areas of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and enhance the potential for future teaching interdisciplinary collaborations across the Faculty, the wider University and relevant external communities. The School of Education maintains a strong commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.
