Do you have experience of working within a grounds maintenance environment?  Are you able to build and maintain effective working relationships?  Do you have experience of carrying out a full range of duties for sporting facilities? 

You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a passion to provide an efficient and effective grounds maintenance service across a diverse campus. You will be responsible for maintaining a range of sports ground pitches at our Weetwood Campus including preparing, marking out and setting up pitches for various sporting activities.

You will hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification in the Maintenance of Outdoor Sports Facilities, alongside a Pesticide application qualification. You will have proven experience of working in a sports grounds environment with the ability to manage multiple demands to strict deadlines. You will possess good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to plan and prioritise your workload under minimal supervision.

You will be physically fit as the role will involve significant levels of manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Grounds and Gardens staff are required to provide a flexible service, working as necessary to meet the needs of the business, this would normally equate to a 35 hour working week, 5 days over 7. Your normal working times will be 8:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday; however flexibility is particularly required due to seasonal variations, customer requirements and University events e.g. open days, large conferences and degree ceremonies.
