The Student Lifecycle Support Programme (SLSP) is seeking a PMO lead for the current programme delivery.

This role is part of Strategic Programmes and Projects and works with leaders, managers and teams throughout the University to integrate and coordinate Change Programmes across the University.

The primary responsibility is to lead and manage the Programme Management Office (PMO) for one of our major strategic programmes, the Student Lifecycle Support Programme, that was launched following the publication of the University’s Vision and Strategy - http://www.bristol.ac.uk/university/strategy/. The post holder has responsibility for development and implementation of systems and processes that maximise understanding and information sharing, provide an integrated programme view and support senior decision making.

The PMO Lead will also be required to represent the programme as deputy Programme Manager in meetings or at senior University boards in the absence of the Programme Manager and will manage the day to day work of staff within the PMO.

The post holder provides Programme and Project management advice and support to colleagues and teams at all levels in Schools, Faculties, and Professional Services Divisions across the University at strategic and tactical level, who are involved or engaged in the Programme using programme and change management tools, techniques, experience and skills to drive the successful delivery of the Programme and the adoption of the changes that impact the organisation, working with benefit owners to ensure Programme benefits are defined, mapped and realised, and objectives and outcomes are achieved.

The Programme Management Office Lead will have demonstrable experience and expertise at the Programme level in supporting and managing change and ideally will be a member of a relevant professional body. They will be required to engage closely in analysing and diagnosing the support needs of the programme and their stakeholders and translate their findings into a tailored PMO strategy.

They will become a key champion for change and programme management across the institution.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are required to ensure complex messages are delivered in a manner appropriate to the audience. Listening skills and the ability to empathise are also key to successful delivery.

The postholder will also work with the change team and others to deliver training and capability building initiatives to develop staff at all levels to lead and manage organisational change.
