About University of the West of Scotland
This is an exciting opportunity to join University of the West of Scotland (UWS), one of Higher Education’s most innovative modern universities.

We have 4 vibrant campuses across the west of Scotland as well as a campus in central London. Our campuses boast some of the most modern, pioneering and sustainable Higher Education learning and teaching facilities in the UK – our new Lanarkshire Campus was the winner of the ‘sustainable buildings that inspire’ accolade in the Guardian University Awards 2019. The University’s 19,900 student population includes a growing international student cohort comprising more than 140 nationalities.

We have also established ourselves as a force for good through our internationally relevant ground-breaking research in areas including eye-care, drone technology, artificial intelligence, thin films and sensors, 5G networking, arthritis and dementia care.
UWS was ranked in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2019 as being in the world’s top 150 universities under 50 and the highest ranked young university in Scotland.

The role
This is a key role in the University’s high-performing Marketing & Student Recruitment Department. The post holder will support the University's strategic plan to recruit high-quality students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels by delivering and promoting a range of activities, together with nurturing close links with secondary schools, FE colleges and other external stakeholders. The post-holder will have responsibility for recruiting students from the domestic (Scottish) market and the rest of the UK market (RUK), which will involve significant travel throughout the UK at certain times of the year. In addition the post-holder will work in partnership with the Admissions Office, Academic Admissions Officers and the wider Marketing and Recruitment team.
You will have proven and significant experience of preparing and delivering presentations, ideally in a Higher Education or customer-driven sales environment. You will have a track record of effectively project-managing a number of activities at any one time and be able to demonstrate experience of using complex database systems, together with experience of report writing in a professional setting.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. You will have demonstrable interpersonal skills, well-developed customer care skills, and be capable of working away from home extensively and for significant periods of time.
Our ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
