The T.M.C. Asser Institute offers advanced law students the opportunity to enrich their knowledge with practical experience of working in the field of public international law and EU law, with a specific focus on EU external relations law and/or business and human rights.
Project description

The intern will have the opportunity to contribute:

  • to research and publication projects of the researchers of the Strand ‘Advancing Public Interests in International and European Law’;
  • to the organisation of events.

Requirements

 Interested candidates should:

  • have a demonstrable interest in and an academic background in EU external relations law and/or business and human rights;
  • have additional interest in and knowledge of public international law or transnational law;
  • have strong legal analysis and writing skills;
  • have strong communication skills (social media proficiency is an advantage);
  • have fluency in written and spoken English (fluency in Dutch is an advantage);
  • be able to draft different types of documents (from academic pieces to project proposals and reports);
  • have experience in the organisation of events and conferences;
  • be motivated and interested in the aims of our organisation;
  • have good team spirit but also be able to work independently.

What we offer

One full (or part) time internship for a period of three months (with the possibility of renewal) with a stipend (€300 to €450 depending on level of education), starting 1 November 2019, for an advanced law student interested in European Union Law and EU External Relations Law and/or business and human rights.

The intern will be appointed at the Amsterdam Law School and seconded to the Asser Institute.
