This is an exciting opportunity for an academic to contribute to the postgraduate teaching programs within Edith Cowan University’s School of Education. The Master of Education (Coursework) at Edith Cowan University comprises core units as well as specialisations in Educational Leadership. We are looking for an academic to join the team of researchers and academics within the program taught on campus at Mt Lawley, China, and through an accelerated On-line mode.
The appointee will demonstrate a high level of connectivity of leadership in the education sector, teaching and research experience and engagement with the wider academic field. We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to contribute to this educational leadership specialisation.The Senior Lecturer must have a PhD in a related field and a national professional profile and be able to demonstrate leadership in both research and teaching as well as professional, industry and community links. The successful applicant will have in-depth knowledge of leadership styles and practices across a range of contexts, as well as a strong understanding of research approaches and methods. Additionally, they will possess a record of research and publications, research student supervision and demonstrated capacity to provide teaching leadership in curriculum review, design and implementation. The successful candidate will also have experience in either Early Childhood, Primary, or Secondary settings and have experience in delivering technology supported learning.
We are seeking a Leadership specialist to enhance our dynamic team of experts in this field. The applicant would have experience both as an academic and in leadership positions in school contexts.
The key responsibilities of the positions will include but not be limited to:
- Fostering a research culture
- Producing recognised research outputs and obtaining research grants
- Developing and contributing to course curriculum at a postgraduate level
- Supervision of higher degree by research students
- Engaging in postgraduate teaching with areas such as Leadership and Research Methods
- Strategic and proactive engagement with industry, the profession and the community
The requirements for this role are set out in the Selection Criteria. To be considered for appointment at Level C you will need to have a PhD, demonstrate your ability and experience in teaching and curriculum development and coordination at Course level, management of staff, publishing in academic journals and achievement of nationally competitive research grants or equivalent. At Level C, you may also be expected to coordinate units and courses.
The successful applicant will also be required to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $120,961 to $139,228 (Level C) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
