Professor and Chair of Human Nutrition

The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences is an international leader in the study of human movement and nutrition, demonstrating excellence through innovative, creative, and dynamic teaching and research, in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, and engaging environment. The School is consistently ranked in the World’s Top 5 and holds a leadership position in its field in the Australian tertiary environment. It is highly regarded for its teaching, research and community outreach programs. The current staff profile consists of 47 FTE academic staff, 11 FTE research staff and 21 professional staff. There are approximately 100 enrolled research higher degree students, and the total EFTSL of all enrolled students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is approximately 1050.

About This Opportunity

A new opportunity exists to provide academic leadership in teaching, research and external engagement in nutrition and dietetics within the School and to form strong productive partnerships in human nutrition within and beyond the University. 

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus (https://campuses.uq.edu.au/st-lucia), renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will hold a PhD in nutrition and/or dietetics and have an established international reputation for sustained, outstanding research, teaching and leadership in nutrition and/or dietetics. The appointee will be collaborative and collegial with a track record of fostering productive partnerships within and beyond their immediate work group.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at Academic level E.

In addition to a base salary of $181,964, you will receive super of up to 17%. The total package will be up to in the $212,897.
