The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne is home to the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Long recognised as one of the leading providers of fine arts and music education in Australia, the Faculty has an ambitious plan to grow its global profile. 2019 marks an exciting and significant moment for the Faculty, with the opening of its transformed Southbank Campus in the heart of the Melbourne Arts Precinct.

The Role:

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music seeks to appoint a Manager, Infrastructure and Operations who will provide strategic and operational leadership for infrastructure management and projects within the Faculty. Working under the direction of the Faculty Executive Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for technical teaching as well as artistic and academic support across multiple portfolios, including Visual Art, Music, Performing Arts, Design and Film & Television. You will develop and maintain relationships with relevant Chancellery and University Services teams to ensure high quality and timely delivery of services to the Faculty, along with leading the Infrastructure & Operations Team in maintaining and running the Faculty’s highly specialised studios, galleries, workshops and digital labs.

The Team:

The Infrastructure and Operations Team is responsible for digital, technical and studio management and provides support to students and academics to deliver the teaching and research programs, performances and events for the Faculty.

You:

With qualifications in a relevant discipline, you will have a record of success as a strategic leader in infrastructure and operations strategy development, program development and delivery and/or production within a large complex organisation. You excel at problem solving and enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, and consistently deliver on projects with the help of your exceptional interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills. You will bring insights from your substantial management experience with diverse and highly skilled teams.

Location:

Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by. You will also be required to attend the University’s Parkville campus as required.
