Overview

The School of Science has a strong track record of excellence in teaching and research in Mathematics, Data Science Chemistry, Physics, Conservation Biology, Ecological and Biological Sciences, Environmental Management and Sustainability. We offer a choice of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have active research programs across all disciplines. Based at the Joondalup campus of ECU, the School of Science aims to maintain a high level of teaching and research achievements through recruitment of new staff.

The Role

The School seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Level B) who has an exceptional early career track record in teaching and research in one or more of the following: applied statistics, data science, geostatistics and statistical modelling. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in applied statistics and data science.

We welcome applications from candidates who have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and engage with industry, government and non-government sectors.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue independent research and supervise postgraduate students, develop and deliver teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and undertake leadership and administrative duties in teaching or other university activities commensurate with the level of the appointment.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant must have a PhD and demonstrated expertise in applied statistics, data science or related areas, as well as experience in teaching both online and on campus. A relevant research track record as evidenced by publications is essential, while grants and experience in the supervision of postgraduate students are desirable. A demonstrated ability to work with others, and in teams, is also required. The successful applicant will also have a strong commitment to quality teaching and learning, and experience working with both domestic and international students.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full-time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $99,043 to $117,312 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
